In My Mailbox is a weekly Meme sponsored by The Story Siren where you share all the new books you get each week to read or review.
My Mailboxes were not that full this week, but what they have lacked in quantity I believe they will make up for in quality. Bell Bridge Books has provided a copy of all four books in Marilee Brothers' The Moonstone: Unbidden Magic series for review.
Moonstone, Moon Rise, Moon Spun and Shadow Moon follow Allie Emerson as she navigates prophesies, witches, guardian angels, the fae, and - worst of all - high school. It looks like it could be a fun, quick series to get into.
Knopf Books for Young Readers kindly provided me with an ARC of Mick Cochrane's Fitz. So far I am really digging the cover and the synopsis is interesting, but I will have to wait a while before I actually get to it. (Fitz is not expected to be released until November 13, 2012!)
I also purchased (from Nightbird Books, of course) new copies of both The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie and The Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey. Why, you might ask, have I bought additional copies of books that it is quite obvious I have already read and love? If you guessed "Giveaways" then you are correct. I will be providing details on the giveaway for each book sometime within the next month!
And, because we cannot find our copy and, in the words of Everything But The Girl, "I miss [it] like the deserts miss the rain," I got a copy of Gaiman's American Gods from our Local Library. It doesn't matter how many times I have read it or how many other interesting things I have to read, American Gods just calls to me and I NEED to reread it. (Maybe I'll actually write a review for it this time!)
